Polka Dot Love from shopriffraff.com

Happy Sunday, friends!

I wanted to share some of the SUPER CUTE polka dot items that I am loving from Riffraff right now.

The Dot By Dot headbands are so cute and fun for summer! They have this in coral, black and cream for only $12 each.

This Spot On Polk Dot dress looks super comfortable. I love the longer length and the fun ruffle around the bottom of the dress. This is currently sold out online, but you can enter your email address to be notified when they have these back in stock. This is one of my favorite features on their site!

The On The Dot Shorties quickly made the list of my summer favorites after I ordered these last week! They are so so comfortable and such a great length…especially for this tall girl! I love the girly lace detail around the bottom and the tie around the front of the shorts.
I'm looking forward to wearing these throughout the summer and to a Razorback game early in the season!

I love these so much that I even convinced a few friends to order them after wearing them to Bible study this past week. ;) Seriously, you will not be disappointed!

The Picnic Polka Dot Short are another great pair of shorts for the summer!

The Spotted at Grand Central top is an easy summer top to dress-up (for you working girls) or dress down for the weekends. I love the little bow that ties in the front on the neckline!

Make sure to visit the website and check-out the SALE section! They have tons of adorable summer items marked down right down!

Just a reminder…
you can always use the code FRANCIS at checkout for an additional 10% off you order!

Hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend!

Beach Vacation-Part 1

We just returned from a super-fun week at the beach! We were gone 9 days, but I could have stayed for at least another week. ;)

This is the 2nd year we have gone the week before Memorial Day and the 2nd year we had perfect weather.

These two cuties were SO much fun! I loved these matching swimsuits that I ordered for them. I'm not sure how much longer I can pull this off, but they sure were cute in their blue seersucker suits.

Brody lost his 1st tooth on the first morning of our trip! Such a fun memory. His tooth was so loose that it just fell out while he was running. Ha! I love this little smile.

Dinner one night during the trip. That blessed pony went everywhere with us at the beach. ;)

This boy LOVES the ocean! He kind of made me a little nervous because he would go out so far!

 "Anna" at the beach. ;)

I ordered several smocked ocean/beach themed dresses when we were buried in snow this winter. I guess I was trying to think warm thoughts while we were freezing here. ;) This lobster dress was one of the dresses and I just love it!

Train ride at the Destin Commons.

We spent part of one day in Seaside. We ate lunch at the food trailers and enjoyed walking around the cute little town.

Jillian was a big fan of Wild Bill's Hot Dogs.

My 3 favorite people.

Eating lunch! We all had such great food from the pod trailers.

I'll share the rest of our beach pictures later this week! I hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Mint Dress Love from shopriffraff.com

Hey friends! Happy Thursday!

I wanted to share a few of my favorite spring dresses from Riffraff!! They all happen to be mint, which is a current favorite color of mine for spring!

I LOVE this Ruffle Road Maxi in Mint. Maxi dresses are a must for spring and summer in my opinion! Super cute and so comfortable!

The Floral and Found Flare Dress is one of my favorite dresses they have right now! I love the eyelet crochet overlay, and this dress has an adorable bow sash in the back. This would be perfect to wear to a summer wedding!

How cute is this Lady Like You A Lot dress? The crochet bell sleeves are so fun and feminine! I actually saw a couple of friends wearing this dress at church for Easter and it's even more adorable in person...if that's possible!

The Feelin' Good Sleeveless Dress in Mint is also one of my personal favorites! I think the bold paisley patten on this dress makes it perfect for spring.

I actually wore this dress for Easter in the cream. It is such a comfortable and cute dress! It's a great length and it fits so well. I thought it was very true to size.

It is currently sold out online, but if you will enter your email address in the box on the dress page on the website, you will be notified via email as soon as the dress is back in stock! How great is that little feature?!

I wore a necklace similar to this one with the dress. Mine was an in-store purchase, but looked a lot like the Fitzgerald Flapper! They have a great jewelry selection with lots of fun, bright necklaces!

The gold bangles I am wearing in the picture were also and in-store purchase. I love bangles! You can never have too many sets. :)

I LOVE shopping Riffraff online, but shopping in-store is always SO great because of the sweet, helpful shop girls! They chose my Easter jewelry for me since I was a little overwhelmed with all the awesome choices they had to offer. :)

Speaking of shopping in-store…Did you hear the exciting news???

Dallas girls- You are going to LOVE having this store in your area!

And just a friendly little reminder that you can use FRANCIS at checkout for an additional 10% off your online purchase. This code, plus their new online FREE SHIPPING option adds up to some great savings for your online purchases!

Easter Weekend

We had a great weekend celebrating Easter with friends and family!

Friday, we hosted a little Easter playgroup/egg hunt for the mommas and kids in our a small group. We were missing a few, but had a fun morning with this cute group.

These 3 sweet friends are all the same age and have been friends since they were little bitty. Here they are 2 years ago at our small group Easter egg hunt and then again this year. We may recreate this picture every year until they are grown. ;)

Friday night, our church hosted a Good Friday Service. Our friend, Jackie, went with us to the service and to eat afterwards. Her husband plays minor league baseball, so he is at spring training right now while Jackie finishes up her last few weeks of college here. We loved having her as part of our family Friday night. Jillian really loves Jackie! She has asked me twice in the past week if Jackie can come spend the night with her. :)

Easter morning...I love seeing these two in coordinating clothes!

Our little fam before church.

Josh's parents spent Easter with us this year.

We had my family over for lunch as well. It was fun spending Elliott's 1st Easter with her!

My parents with the 3 grandkids.

Hunting Easter eggs in our backyard later Sunday evening. It got a little competitive between these 2. :)

We had such a great day celebrating the Resurrection! We hope you did as well!!

The moon and stars they wept
The morning sun was dead
The Savior of the world was fallen
His body on the cross
His blood poured out for us
The weight of every curse was broken

One final breath He gave
As Heaven looked away
The Son of God was laid in darkness
A battle in the grave
The war on death was waged
The power of hell forever broken

The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting
Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated

Forever, He is glorified
Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive
He is alive

Orange, Blue and Grey Dining Room Makeover

After living in our house for 15 months and making no progress on our dining room, I hired my sweet, incredibly talented friend, Katie, from Katie Grace Designs to tackle this big empty space!

I love neutral rooms in other homes, but for our house color is a must! Our new dining room is fun and funky, while still being a classy dining space! The bright, bold colors help it feel a bit more casual, which I love. We cannot wait to entertain family and friends in this room!

The awesome light fixture is just a storage basket with a light built into it. This was such a reasonable alternative to purchasing a new, large light fixture. And it adds such a fun texture to the room!

Katie found this fabulous fabric that I just loved! It was central to the room design. I love that it is such a great combination of orange, grey, blue and yellow.  We had the parsons chairs already {they are ivory leather}, so slipcovers made for an easy change in the look of the chairs.

The middle 4 chairs have shorter slipcovers in the grey linen. It's the same fabric used for the curtains. We ordered the rug online and I was so pleased with the way it looked in person. The table was my grandmother's. I blogged, here, about refinishing it.

One of my favorite things about the room is the custom artwork by Amanda Kella. These are canvas pieces in simple, modern frames from Hobby Lobby.

A close-up of her AMAZING work!

This china cabinet was Josh's grandmothers {and I think it belonged to her mother} so it had been in their family for a while. It was brave to paint it blue, but I LOVE the way it turned out! My friend Emily painted it and did such a great job! It's special to us that we have furniture pieces from both of our maternal grandmothers in our dining room.

Emily kept the original hardware on the china cabinet and painted it silver. So fun! Right now I have some of my everyday Target dishes in there, but I'm planning to put my china in the cabinet. I've used our formal china once in 6.5 years of marriage. ;)

Love all the pops of color!

One more look at the room!

This room is so us! We absolutely LOVE it, and it's honestly better than what we could have imagined! Katie made the entire process so easy and fun, and she took care of every detail. I cannot say enough great things about working with her. She is SO good at what she does. It's so fun to see friends use their gifts and passions to bless and help others.

If you are not local, Katie does design boards as one of her design services. It's a great option!

Thanks, Katie, for the awesome room! I'm already thinking about what room we can tackle next! :)

weekend recap

How is it already Monday?? The weekend seemed to just fly by around here!

Friday night was date night for us! We didn't really have any big plans for that night. Since it was SO nice outside, we decided to go running at Lake Fayetteville and then to eat Mexican food after we ran. It was a fun, relaxing night!

Saturday, we ran to Lowe's to grab some things to work in the yard.

Pruning, digging, planting, and mulching was how we spent the day. These two were big helpers! ;) And I always forget how many muscles I use when I do yard work. I was sore on Sunday morning!

We found a headboard for Jillian's bed on Saturday. We transitioned her from a toddler bed in January and I've needed to add a headboard to her bed, but I just had not found one I loved until this weekend.
This is a perfect fit for her girly room!

She loves it! ;)

Sunday, we went to church. Brody loves when we get to ride the golf cart to the car!

Jillian and I played "salon" on Sunday afternoon. I will let you guess who the stylist was...

She also played dress-up, which included prancing around the house in my leopard booties!

Last night, I planned to make banana pancakes for dinner since we had some very ripe bananas. Brody asked if we could add in chocolate chips to the batter, so we had banana chocolate chips pancakes. We topped them with lots of extra toppings to make them extra good. They we delicious and honestly tasted like we had dessert for supper!

I hope you all had a great weekend!
